Easy to Understand Steps to Incorporate Company in Oman
1. Choose a Business Activity
Determine the type of business activity you want to engage in and make sure it complies with the business activities permitted in Oman.
2. Check Availability of Company Name
Choose a unique company name that is not already registered in Oman. You can check the availability of the chosen name with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) in Oman.
3. Choose a Legal Structure
Decide on the legal structure for your company, such as a limited liability company (LLC), joint stock company (SAOC), or sole proprietorship.
4. Finding a Suitable Place of Business
A company must have a physical presence in the form of a registered address. You may need to provide proof of the lease or ownership of the office space during the company registration process.
5. Company Registration With MOCI
Submit the company documents along with the required fees to the MOCI for registration. This includes obtaining approval for obtaining a commercial registration and chamber of commerce certificates.
6. Municipality Registration
Once you have leased a commercial property for your company’s office, you will need to register the rent agreement with the municipality in Oman. This involves submitting a copy of the rent agreement to the municipality and obtaining an official acknowledgment of the registration.
7. Obtain Business Activity Licenses
Depending on your business activity, you need to obtain additional permits, licenses, or certifications from relevant authorities before commencing operations.
8. Get Investor Visa
You need to obtain business partner visa clearance from the Royal Oman Police (ROP). This clearance allows foreign partners or employees to enter and work in Oman legally.
